Members to remember
In connection with the 120th anniversary, we are highlighting and honoring some of the dedicated individuals in the Start family.
IK Start is more than just a club – it is a community built on passion, volunteer spirit, and love for football and the Sørlandet region. Over the years, many wonderful people have contributed with ideas, actions, and athletic achievements that have helped move the club forward.

Honorary Members and Golden Badge Holders
Some of these members are no longer with us, but the memories of what they did live on in our club. Let us carry their legacy forward and continue the work they were a part of, so that together we can build on Start’s history for future generations.
We know that many have contributed in their own way, both on and off the pitch. Not everyone is mentioned, but no one is forgotten. Everyone has been an important part of the Start family.
We thank each and every one of them for their efforts and for helping shape IK Start into the club it is today – and the one we aim to be tomorrow.

Internal Honors:
Honorary membership with diploma is IK Start’s highest distinction. No one can be appointed an honorary member without being a member of the club and without first having been awarded the club’s Gold Badge. A particularly significant contribution, either in sports or administration, is required to be appointed as an honorary member.
IK Start’s Gold Badge with diploma can be awarded to members for outstanding service to the club over a period of at least 10 years.
External Honors:
The Medal for Long and Faithful Service, awarded by the Royal Norwegian Society for Development (Det Kongelige Selskap for Norges Vel), is a distinction given to employees who have worked for the same employer for at least 25 years. The medal is a recognition of long and faithful service in an impeccable employment relationship.
The King’s Medal of Merit is a Norwegian honor awarded “for merit in the fields of art, science, industry, and outstanding service in the public sector.” It is given for particularly beneficial contributions to society or voluntary work, for distinguished service over a long period, or for a lifetime of achievement that serves as an example to others.
The medal is awarded in the name of the King
