Karl Johan "Bassen" Bisseth – Longtime Player and Loyal Contributor
Karl Johan “Bassen” Bisseth (born January 6, 1941) is one of IK Start’s true club icons, with a legacy spanning several decades. He was registered with the club by his parents as early as 1949, and at the age of 17, he made his debut for the first team in 1958. Over the course of a solid career, he played a total of 280 first-team matches, alternating between striker and central defender, contributing both offensively and defensively.
For his efforts on the pitch, he received the Club Statuette for 150 appearances in 1966 and the Senior Council Trophy in 1968. After a long and loyal playing career, he retired in 1971.
But Bassen's involvement with the club didn’t end there. Over the years, he has remained close to Start, volunteering in Starthallen and serving as a steward and ticket assistant at home matches. His long-standing commitment and loyalty have been of great value to the club, and he remains a highly respected figure in the Start community to this day.
